Dooney's textured AWL (all weather leather) should be uniform in color)Ĥ. The two-toned pebbled coloring isn't correct. The style shouldn't have leather (pleather?) strips going down the sidesģ. The duck emblem is too high up on the frontĢ. The OP's bag is trying to be a Norfolk style but:ġ.
A search of "Dooney Norfolk" will pull up a bunch of listings (currently all are authentic) so others can look at the details. Here are some of the very obvious problems. So I wasn't sure how much information to disclose about this bag and decided that the problems with the bag are obvious enough that they really can't be hidden by a seller who is determined to have their fake fly under the radar. But I realize there are lurkers who read to learn and lurkers who read to find ways to unload items that they shouldn't be selling.Īlthough I'm not one of those authenticators who believes that disclosing why an item is fake will "help the counterfeiters to make a better fake," I don't like to be too specific about things that can be hidden in a listing. I am NOT referring to the OP when I say the following. Thanks! Just trying to learn the fine points.Beth I understand that sometimes, to a more trained eye than I have, it just doesn't LOOK right, but I'd appreciate it if you'd expand a bit on that.
Alberta, or anyone else, if you ease tell me a few things about how you can see that that bag's not authentic? I was looking at the pictures thinking that it was really nice (I would've picked it up eagerly :-D), so while there's something obviously wrong with it, I don't see it.
